This "Just in Time" training aims to provide social ministry organizations, synods, congregations, and individuals involved in the Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) network with disaster response and management information. It is for individuals new to disaster response and provides a basic understanding of the agencies and organizations they may encounter. It also explains the phases of disasters; the services that may need to be developed; and the role of the local, state, and national emergency management agencies and offices of emergency management during the disaster's phases. Finally, it will also offer ways your social ministry organization, synod and congregation can assist in natural and human-caused disasters.
