Participants will receive information about creating a safe sleep environment in the childcare setting. Learners will gain a greater understanding of the risk factors for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related causes of infant death. Discover strategies to reduce these risks. Participants will explore how to create a safe sleep environment in the childcare setting, as well as tips for talking with parents and other family members about creating a safe home sleep environment. This is a 2-hour course worth 0.2 CEUs. This course meets the new Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) training requirements for providers and teachers. This course can be utilized to meet the training requirements to earn or renew your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Course content is aligned with the CDA Subject Area 1: Planning a safe and healthy environment.
