Description

This is the REQUIRED San Diego Zoo Global (SDZG) Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) course for employees, students and volunteers involved with research and teaching that involves the use of animals. This course will provide you with information about the SDZG IACUC and what your role as a researcher at SDZG will be.

The SDZG IACUC training moved to the My Academy platform in 2014 and we are now requiring that all research staff (employees, students and volunteers) take the new training with the submission of a new IACUC application after April 28, 2014. This course will be valid for 3 years from the date it was taken and we will be developing a refresher module that will need to be taken once that expires.

If you have already taken this required training and are looking for additional information about animal care and use committees, please look for the My Academy class with the title, “Conservation research oversight and IACUC Collaborations.” This OPTIONAL educational webinar will help you learn more about how to do conscientious research oversight in zoos, and especially how to collaborate with organizations that have a federal accreditation and IACUC.
