Fire Safety & Fire Extinguisher Training is a required OSHA training under standard 1910.157 and is taken at initial employment and annually thereafter. All employees must take this course annually and employees tasked with "fighting" a fire in case of an emergency must also have hands on training with a fire extinguisher. At TSA, those employees will be maintenance and Security departments. The course will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and you will need to pass an exam with 70% to obtain credit. The course covers the combustion process of a fire, different types of fires and fire extinguishers needed to extinguish each, and how to operate the fire extinguisher using P.A.S.S.
