Description

It is important for staff to better understand the impact trauma and stressful events has on a young person’s mental and emotional well-being. Often times, the behaviors staff may observe in programs are connected to a young person’s experience with stressful or traumatic events. Staff can better support their youth and be responsive to their experiences when we are equipped with this knowledge. During this course participants will understand the connection between our internal brain function and the behaviors we observe in programs as well as understand the impact stress and trauma has on a young person.
