This lecture will dive deep into some of the most controversial topics in clinical paramedicine including disease states where pharmacotherapy is highly contested including agitated delirium, anaphylaxis, refractory shock, intubation, and much more. This case based discussion will review the current literature surrounding medications in several disease states in EMS and provide realistic pros and cons for each of the medications used in their respective clinical scenarios. Attendees will leave this lecture feeling confident about evidence based medicine and when to use one or multiple drugs over another when presented with a particular disease state.
