Description

Risk is a part of every stage of the construction lifecycle, from preconstruction to project closeout. Although risk can’t be completely avoided, at the very least we should figure out how to minimize it, so the risk won’t adversely impact our agency’s funding, reputation, or business continuity.

This course covers the types of risk in housing rehabilitation projects, and how to control them, including contracts, steps to selecting qualified contractors, and protocols to follow to lessen risk. Course participants will learn techniques in construction that avoid, reduce and/or transfer risks.

This course is designed to give program staff the techniques and contract information to avoid, reduce and/or transfer risks. Recommended as an introductory course for rehab specialists and project managers, or a solid overview course for executive directors and board members.
