Description

The Rochester Fire Department is well-positioned to obtain documented refusals from EMS patients who decline transport to a hospital. Doing so is well within the scope of RFD EMTs, provides value back to the community by precluding the ability to bill the patient for non-transport services, and is a component of the Basic Life Support First Response scope of services found in neighboring departments and throughout the county, state, and country. This online course will introduce new RFD-specific policies and procedures, provide the knowledge and skills required to conduct patient refusal of care on-scene, and properly document the incident in the patient care report.
