This course is designed for CASA volunteers and staff to deepen their understanding of the systemic disparities that exist within the child welfare system and their profound impact on children and families. Participants will explore the various forms of inequality, including racial, socioeconomic, and geographic disparities, and analyze how these contribute to disproportionate outcomes. Through a combination of interactive online learning and practical insights, you will gain a critical perspective on the root causes of these disparities and learn actionable strategies to advocate more effectively for equitable treatment and improved well-being for all children involved in the system.
