This course provides a practical introduction to federal civil rights requirements for organizations receiving federal funds. Participants will learn how to comply with key nondiscrimination laws, including Title VI, Title IX, Section 504, the ADA, and related regulations. The course covers protected classes, prohibited practices, and real-world scenarios involving service delivery, employment, and program access.
Learners will also explore core compliance responsibilities such as developing nondiscrimination policies, conducting self-assessments, handling complaints, collecting and reporting data, and ensuring meaningful access for individuals with limited English proficiency. Emphasis is placed on risk mitigation, monitoring, and best practices to maintain compliance throughout the grant lifecycle.
