This eClassroom Express course will focus on the evolving issue of the non-borrower spouse. We will review the history of the issue, the outcomes of litigation, and HUD’s recent efforts to craft a policy which protects both the interests of spouses and the integrity and sustainability of the HECM program. At the end of the course, participants will be able to explain the new policies in the context of counseling, respond to questions that clients are likely to pose, and appropriately document their actions in client files.
