Leaders Community Based Organizations wear a few hats: managers, cheerleaders, trainers, and coaches. Legislative changes, community development, local economics form a rapidly changing community environment, and require the Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to stay agile and adapt quickly. Leaders of the CBOs are expected to manage and guide their employees in an unpredictable environment, and often may not have all the answers and tools. Thus, they often have to switch from the role of a “manager” to a role of a “coach” where they provide their employees with support and guidance rather than directions and instructions.
