Description

In order for children to learn, they must have a well-maintained, safe, and healthy physical environment in which to play, run, eat, sleep, and discover the world around them. Your goals in designing and maintaining a safe environment include both your indoor and outdoor spaces. In this module, we’ll explore how to create a safe physical premises based on local licensing standards and the Florida Statutes.

  • Identify and implement building safety standards
  • Follow existing guidelines to ensure safe food preparation
  • Know your responsibilities relating to providing accommodations for children with special needs
  • Understand how to implement fire prevention procedures and keep children safe in the event of a fire
  • Implement procedures to prevent children’s exposure to hazardous materials
