Description

The children in your program run, play, socialize, build, explore, sing, and dance. While doing this they are constantly growing, learning, and developing. That’s why they need their rest! In this module you’ll learn why each program must have a designated area where each child can sit quietly or lie down to rest or nap.

Outcomes

  • Understand safe sleep practices, including SIDS prevention
  • Implement safe sleep policies
  • Determine when to provide safe sleep training for staff and volunteers
  • Assess the sleep areas, bedding, and linens in your program
  • Implement appropriate supervision practices when children are napping or sleeping
