This interactive course increases after-school providers’ awareness of how reading difficulties and dyslexia may impact students’ academic performance and affect their behavior. By increasing understanding, after-school staff may recognize “this child may not be doing their homework because they have a condition that interferes with their ability to read, rather than having a behavior problem". Local resources are provided as well as simple strategies to help students with reading challenges.
