Child Development: Birth to Three is intended to improve the quality of care for children ages birth to three by helping early educators understand the importance of early development and their role as a nurturer. The goal of Lesson 2: The Young Infant is to help early childhood educators understand the rapid development that takes place in infants from birth to eight months, recognize average routines of young infants and know the importance of an appropriate schedule and environment for the development of young infants.
