Introduction to Leadership Discussion

Which quote best reflects your thoughts on leadership? Why?

I think that they all are really great quotes about leadership, however the one that stands out to me the most is the third quote. Most leaders don't even think of themselves as leaders, but instead someone who is passionate about something and they just so happen to take the lead on it.

I would say all of them because everyone is different and unique. A leader can be who figures out the needs, challenges, negative and positive sides of people around him and knows how to lead them.

All the quotes it takes a leader to involve every aspect of a situation or program not just one part

Quote #3 "Great leaders don't set out to be a leader...they set out to make a difference. It's never about the role-always about the goal."
This quote resonates with me because being a true leader is helping to lead your staff to make a difference. When you are a true leader, your staff will follow suit and help you reach the overall goal.

Quote #2:Being positive in a negative situation is not naive. It's leadership.

I always love to stay positive when others show negativity. I never thought of that as showing leadership, but it makes total sense!

To me attitude is everything. If you have a good attitude and are willing to learn, you will be a great employee and good to work with.

Phrase number 3 strikes a cord with me, but number to also resonates with me as well.

I think number 3 is the most meaningful

The fourth quote, because great leaders inspire me, and do lead with passion I can feel it.

I love quote 2. It is saying basically to handle situations to the best of your ability.

#2

being positive helps a leader to handle the problem instead of reacting in feelings

The quote that I felt inspired me the most was number two. Being an positive in an negative situation makes you the bigger person.

I think number three is the most meaningful. Most leaders want to make a difference and strive for the goals that they set for themselves and for others around them.

The quote that best reflects my thoughts on leadership is qupte number 4 because leadership is so much more than being in charge it is leading by example and bringing out the best in all around you. It definitely involves developing others that will lead to them conducting business efficiently on their own.

I like the third quote. Leaders need to lead by example, communicate and delegate to work toward a common goal.

Quote #3 is the most meaningful to me. I feel like the best leaders never intend to be a leader. They just want to see a difference or achieve a goal to make situations better.

I like the fourth quote. I feel that helping people be better is what makes a good leader.

The first quote is stating to never give in but to strive to succeed, that is I try to live my life when I encounter challenges.

The last quote: The best leaders not only inspire us, they develop and empower us to lead with passio from whatever position they currently hold in life. This quote reflects my thoughts on leadership because you dont have to be known around or be a big shot to inspire someone. A leader can come in many forms

#2 -I try to see the positive or silver lining in everything I can. NO just means we need to find another road to a YES or find a different better opportunity to get a YES. Calm and positive is how I hope I am perceived by staff and families. I never claimed to have all the answers, but work hard to come up with the best answers/solutions.

I agree with you! Quote #2 really stood out to me.

I agree with you! Quote #2 really stood out to me.

I like how you can turn a negative situation into something positive and make the best of a negative situation

The first quote about emerging stronger and more unified really speaks to my leadership goals. It is my hope that I would be the leader that brings people together, even through hard conversations and disagreements.

The Third quote from an anonymous source best reflects my thoughts on leadership. I believe great leaders do not set out the be leaders. There is often a need for something in the community and driven by passion and love, they act not realizing that they are leaders. Often those people don't like the recognition from it, they just simply want to be a servant.

i really like the 3rd one and how a leader doesnt set out to be the leader, its not about the role its about the goal.

It is about the goal...making a difference!!! So many leaders get caught up in titles & power.... so sad for them and those they oversee!

Quote Number Four best reflects my thoughts on leadership. The key words of the quote are "inspire" "empower" and "passion". A leader displaying these qualities places greater emphasis on embracing each "team member" and coaching them so that they can reach their highest level of performance. Individuals who are under the influence of this type of leader feel appreciated, important and secure. People sharing the ideals of quotation number four display strong group ties and form very productive and dedicated working units.

Leadership begins with self reflection, setting high standards, and coaching others to do the same. Leadership is leading by example.

The fourth quote is the one that I believe reflects my thoughts on leadership. The reason for that is because, I believe that if we don't inspire others to lead with passion, then we ourselves are not leading with passion, and inspiring others.

Being Positive in a negative situation is not naïve. It's leadership. In this field you often have to look at a negative as a positive. It's part of this career and shows how assertive you're.

The quote that states being positive in an negative situation is not naive..It's leadership because being positive in the negative situation shows your taking control of the situation but in a subtle way and that in turn can help calm a situation down and/or show how you can analyze the negative to turn into a positive to work for a common goal.

The role of being a leader is not important. it is the goal you are leading toward.
this is so true! True Leadership doesnt gloat! getting things done is what makes you a good leader.

I chose this quote (1) to reflect my thoughts on leadership because as leaders, we can stand for what we believe in and how that we can overcome any obstacle that lies in our pathway. As we stand together and overcome our fears we can show others that we can be the leaders that we show in our leadership, and with luck, others can follow us as well.

The last quote is the one that resonates with me most. Leaders should be inspiring and helping us find our passion wherever we are.

'Being positive in a negative situation is not naive. It's leadership." This is me- I'm not a jump in and go at it type of person but I always try to find the best/better way to approach a situation or set my fears aside to make sure others are taken care of or needs are met.

The quote by Ty Howard definitely best reflects my thoughts about leadership. I believe this because i know a great leader helps inspire to make more great leaders.

I feel like being positive in a negative situation always lets light in. If everyone is negative, nothing positive will ever come of the situation. The only way to get a positive end result is to be positive all the way through, even when the going may get tough.

I am the second one all the way, sometimes people see me as "too positive" or that i joke around too much, but when i am leading a group things always get done quickly and efficiently, it works.

I am the second one all the way, sometimes people see me as "too positive" or that i joke around too much, but when i am leading a group things always get done quickly and efficiently, it works.

I like three i don't think great leaders set out to be great they set out to make a difference and just naturally encourage others to do so as well.

I struggled between 3 & 4. I think you become a good/great leader by leading by example in a positive and effective way. When you create a leader by simply helping someone be the best they can be where they are, you have accomplished the goal.

The quote that touched a chord with me is the third quote: "Great leaders don't set out to be a leader...they set out to make a difference. It's never about the role - always about the goal." This is very true. The best leaders are not always those who feel they deserve to be in a leadership position because for them, it is all about the power of the position. The truly best leaders are those who are willing to work right alongside with those they lead. They lead by example.

I like number one it is telling you never to give in but try to lead in a way so you can be victorious.

I think they are all good leadership quotes however, I like number 4 the most because it states that it makes everyone want to inspire others.

I like number four, TY Howard he wrote very powerful quote because it saying always strive and encourage no matter your position in life, you position don't stop u from giving your best and helping other be there best

I like the quote that says leadership is about making a difference and reaching a goal. As well as the last one about inspiring others.

i like the quote that says being positive in a negative situation is not naive it is leadership because being positive is the most important part in leader it is harder but inspire and teach us how to be positive

The quote that reflected most deeply with me was about being positive in negative situations. I think a great leader teaches to always find a solution that will end positively and to work with others to find positivity in every situation.

i definitely think that being positive projects that feeling to others
