Description

This training will use a social-ecological lens to examine the intersection of trauma and identity for LGBTQ+ youth. The workshop aims to broaden participants' understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and the mental health implications of trauma for LGBTQ+ youth. Participants will learn current best practices that build protective factors, increase resiliency, and buffer risk using a model of trauma informed care and will explore strategies to strengthen and support families in order to foster health, safety, and wellness.
