Welcome to the South Dakota portal for the Out of School Time Professional Development Center. The Division of Child Care and the Early Childhood Enrichment (ECE) System are proud to announce that we are now partnering with CypherWorx to offer child care & afterschool providers in South Dakota an on-line opportunity for school-age-specific training. The training provides self-paced lessons that are available 24 hours a day for a one-year period. You may log in and out anytime at your convenience to complete a lesson.

Courses
With hundreds of courses available to meet South Dakota Career Pathways, our courses have a wealth of information created specifically for afterschool professionals.

Requirements / Pre-Requisites for students seeking OST Certificate / Credential:
- Students must indicate their intent to earn the OST Certificate or Credential on this site.
- Students must have completed (or be in process of completing) the 10 basic or 'Core' OST modules offered annually online/in-person by the SD ECE System. Check the regional and statewide ECE training calendars here.
- Students will be contacted by their regional ECE office and assigned an OST Advisor.
- Students must successfully complete the 24 OST Certificate Modules, including online tests, and complete four projects (one paper for each series of six modules) which are sent to the regional OST Advisor. You may not move to the next six classes in the series until each required project is completed.
- Students must successfully complete the 12 OST Credential Modules, including online tests, and complete a Professional Resource File plus a Professional Portfolio (which are sent to the regional OST Advisor for review).
- Students will then file the formal application for state assessment.
Students accessing this portal may choose to:
- complete specific OST Certificate and Credential Series courses to meet the requirements to earn the South Dakota Out of School Time (OST) Credential; or,
- complete classes in the above series and other training topics offered on the site as stand-alone sessions to meet your professional development needs.
This training portal is not independent of the SD Early Childhood Enrichment Training System, but rather an enhancement of training currently offered statewide (both in-person and online). Students registering on this site will be linked to a regional Early Childhood Enrichment office, depending on where they reside. Training on this site successfully completed will be listed on the regional database.
While all students registering to use the SD Portal have access to the entire PD site for training choices, students wanting to earn the SD OST Credential must register their intent when they sign on. If you do not intend to sign up for the SD OST Credential, you will still have access to those modules but will not be considered a 'credential-seeking' candidate.

SCORM is the de facto industry standard for tracking eLearning. Our site is integrated with the SCORM Engine, which means our system is fully compliant with SCORM and AICC courses.

Every course you take is tracked for performance using our SCORM-compliant LMS. This means you can review your performance and, if you are a nation admin, your members’ performance as well.
Do It Yourself
Want to add a course to your custom site quickly and cheaply? Our DIY tool makes it simple to upload a PowerPoint, convert it into a course, and add it straight into your site. You will then be able to track the performance of every learner who takes it.
