Leading and Listening: Cultivating Effective Cross-Cultural Communication
Racial healing is supported through respectful dialogue, affirmation of people and their lived experiences, connectedness to culture and history, while acknowledging the impact of racial oppression. In this session, participants will discuss cross-cultural communication, microaggressions, and anti-racism.
Participants will be able to:
1) Identify examples of the three different types of racism and ways to promote anti-racism;
2) Identify barriers to cross-cultural communication;
3) Describe effective listening skills; and
4) Define microaggressions and provide at least (2) examples.
This course will be broadcasted and recorded via Zoom Meeting and uses PowerPoint presentation, lecture, and discussions for instruction. You must register before attending via Zoom as seats are limited.
