Description

National CDA (Child Development Associate) Preparation Program

Early Childhood Training


Instructor: Delphine Brock, Professional Development Instructor/Advisor


This is a 120 hour preparation course for the National CDA which includes:

  • Content specific instruction for center-based infant/toddler, preschool, and family home child care teachers
  •  Adult general education and technology instruction


Pre-requisites for this class include:

  • A High School Diploma or GED (Bring copy—Must be accepted by Dept. of Education and DCF)
  • Completion of State Mandated 40 hours plus 5 hour literacy class (DCF transcript required)
  •  480 hours of classroom experience within the last three (3) years in a center-based program or family home
  •  Be at least 18 years of age
  •  Must have access to a computer and/or other device with internet connection. Must be able to access ZOOM


 How Often and Where Do Classes Meet?

  • Classes meet on Mondays and Tuesdays, and include a monthly Saturday class time
  • Weekday classes begin at 5:30pm and end at 7:30pm. Saturday classes begin at 9:00am and end at 11:00 am
  •  ZOOM online instruction
