TBRI® Engagement Strategies and Rituals Coaching

The Connecting Principle is the foundation of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), and it is the quality of our engagement and the rituals of our lives that can supercharge our connections. In “Collaborating for Connection: TBRI® Engagement Strategies and Rituals Coaching,” we will take a deep dive into practices that build healing, attuned relationships with kids and teens. We will define TBRI® engagement strategies and consider how these practices can be applied within a variety of settings and across age groups. We will create a space for collaboration, using the lived experiences of caregivers via group discussion to identify meaningful rituals in relationships. We will troubleshoot perceived barriers to implementing engagement strategies and rituals, such as the attachment style of the child or caregiver. Finally, we will provide individualized feedback as needed to participants to support ongoing skills acquisition and practice.

Prerequisite: Must have previously attended a 2, 4, 8, or 18-hour TBRI® Training by Hope Street. This training builds on previous presentations, and background knowledge is required.

Objectives:

1.     Define TBRI® engagement strategies and consider practices for application within diverse settings and age groups; 

2.     Consider how engagement strategies and rituals promote healing in kids and teens from hard places;

3.     Collaborate via open forum discussion on ways to create meaningful rituals between caregivers, kids, and teens;

4.     Troubleshoot perceived barriers to implementing engagement strategies and rituals;

5.     Provide individualized feedback as needed to support ongoing skills acquisition and practice.
